Sporting Clube de Goa cruised to a 4-1 victory over Panjim Footballers in the Goa Professional League at Duler Stadium, Mapusa, on Friday.
The hosts broke the deadlock in the 36th minute, with Doyal Alves finishing off a swift counterattack. After intercepting possession in midfield, he linked up with Joyson, who returned the ball with precision. Under pressure from defenders, Doyal kept his composure, drilling a powerful shot past the keeper to give Sporting Clube the lead.
Sporting Clube wasted no time extending their advantage early in the second half. Selwyn Miranda found the back of the net in the 48th minute, finishing a brilliant long ball from Joyner Lourenco. Selwyn expertly controlled the ball, surged into the box, and slotted it home to double the lead.
The match saw a penalty for Sporting Clube in the 70th minute after Joyson was fouled inside the area. Alves stepped up and calmly converted, sending the keeper the wrong way to complete his brace.
Panjim Footballers pulled one back in the 78th minute, as Ajay Raj tapped in a cross from Rahul to reduce the deficit. But Sporting Clube sealed the win in the final moments when Selwyn Miranda hammered home a stunning shot from the edge of the box, securing a 4-1 triumph.
