In an exhilarating round of matches in the Goa Professional League, Sesa FA and Calangute Association both claimed decisive victories, showcasing their prowess and reshaping the league standings.

At Sirsaim on Sunday, Sesa FA delivered a masterclass in football, securing a commanding 5-0 win over Guardian Angel SC. Sankalp Kankonkar was in fine form, opening the scoring in the 3rd minute with a tap-in from Omkar Shetgaonkar’s precise through ball.

The duo was instrumental again just before halftime, setting up Chaitan Dabholkar to double the lead. Kankonkar added his second shortly after the break, converting from Beckham Singh’s assist. Joshua D’Silva continued his remarkable season by scoring his 22nd goal, and Clencio Pinto wrapped up the scoring, ensuring Sesa FA topped the table with 45 points after 23 games.

Guardian Angel SC, despite their efforts, could not thwart Sesa’s attacking force and remained in tenth place with 26 points.

Meanwhile, at Duler on Tuesday, Calangute Association dashed Cortalim Villagers' title hopes with a resounding 5-1 victory. Fasel Dsouza initiated the scoring spree in the 9th minute, though Vikram Venkatachalam briefly restored parity for Cortalim Villagers just before the interval.

However, the second half was dominated by Calangute, with Jovito Fernandes quickly reclaiming the lead. Further goals from Richard Cardozo and Dalwin Coelho put the match beyond reach, and after Cortalim's captain Clive Miranda was dismissed, Veron Pereira capitalized on the advantage, sealing the win for Calangute. Calangute's George was named the player of the match.
