Sesa FA leave it late to edge Dempo SC; YBT down Red Machines

Young boys of Tonca defeated Churchill Brothers 2-0, Sesa FA edged out Dempo SC while Guardian Angel played out a drab draw with Cortalim Villagers in their respective fixtures of the Goa Professional League on Saturday.

Young Boys of Tonca were relentless in their attack, with Savish Singh opening the scoring in the 55th minute. Yadav Rahul then doubled their advantage just six minutes later, securing all three points for the impressive young side.

The match of the day took place between Sesa FA and Dempo SC, in a thrilling encounter that went down to the wire. Dempo SC took the lead early in the second half through a goal from Mevan Dias in the 47th minute, but Sesa FA refused to be deterred.

Sesa FA sought to strengthen their offense by substituting in Joshua Dsilva, their star striker, at the start of the second half.

Joshua D'silva emerged as the hero as Umang delivered a precise long pass to the strker who scored the equalizer in the 82nd minute to bring his side back into the game. D'silva then struck again in the dying moments of the match, netting the winner in the 93rd minute to seal a dramatic 2-1 victory for Sesa FA.

In the final game of the day, Guardian Angel SC and Cortalim Villagers battled to a goalless draw in a tightly contested affair. Both teams displayed resolute defensive performances, denying each other clear-cut scoring opportunities throughout the match.
