Sesa FA, FC Tuem register comfortable wins

Sesa Football Academy (SFA) showcased their supremacy as they secured a resounding 3-0 victory over Sinquerim Sports Club in the GFA-Vedanta Women’s League at Sirsaim ground, on Tuesday.

Right from the opening kickoff, SFA displayed their intent to dominate the game. Vailanka Dsouza had an early opportunity to put SFA in the lead, but her strike struck the woodwork, causing an early scare for Sinquerim.

Marlat Cardozo also made a valiant effort, only to be thwarted by the vigilant Sinquerim goalkeeper. Tanvi Parulekar tried her luck with a long-range shot, but Swizel Carvalho, Sinquerim's goalkeeper, proved to be a formidable obstacle.

The breakthrough for SFA finally arrived in the 17th minute when Priya Dhatkar capitalized on a rebound opportunity, expertly heading the ball into the net to give her team the lead.

The second half witnessed a spectacular moment when Meloshka Carvalho unleashed a sensational long-range shot, finding the back of the net in the 52nd minute, doubling SFA's lead. The momentum was firmly in SFA's favor, and they didn't stop there.

In the 57th minute, Donea Fernandes extended SFA's advantage with a well-taken goal, further solidifying their control of the match.

Despite a late attempt by Angela for SFA, Swizel Carvalho, the Sinquerim goalkeeper, stood tall, denying any further goals from the opponents.

In another match, Cana Benaulim SA faced a tough challenge against FC Tuem, who displayed their dominance with an astonishing 8-0 victory in the GFA-Vedanta Women’s League at Don Bosco Oratory Fatorda.

Karen Estrocio was the star of the match, scoring an incredible five goals (1', 32', 38', 45', 90+1'), while Namita Govekar (12') and Aniela Barreto (45+2') also contributed to FC Tuem's emphatic win. Kulsum Shaikh added another goal in the 89th minute, completing the rout.

Karen Estrocio was named the player of the match and this is her third consecutive player of the match award in the league.

Meanwhile at Duler Stadium, Mapusa, Vintage 73 SC emerged triumphant with a scoreline of 2-1, courtesy of goals from Remediana Noronha (39') and Stessi Cardozo (45') against Compassion FC. Compassion FC had taken the lead through Swellen Fernandes at the half hour mark.

 

Remediana Noronha bagged the player of the match award.
