Sporting Clube de Goa extended their perfect start in the Goa Professional League, cruising to a commanding 6-0 victory over Vasco Sports Club at Duler Stadium on Tuesday. The win marks Sporting Clube’s fifth consecutive triumph. Flaming Oranje had six different players finding the net.
The match opened with Sporting Clube dictating the tempo and soon converting their dominance into goals. The first came courtesy of Biswa, who capitalized on a well-placed pass from Doyal Alves, sliding the ball past Vasco’s goalkeeper to break the deadlock. Minutes later, Doyal doubled the advantage by heading home after a defensive miscue left Vasco’s keeper stranded on a lofted cross from the right flank. Sporting Clube entered the halftime interval with a comfortable 2-0 lead.
In the second half, the Flaming Oranje resumed their attacking display with increased intensity. Selwyn Miranda added the third goal, capitalizing on a defensive blunder. Joel’s long pass led to confusion between Vasco’s goalkeeper and a defender, allowing Selwyn to collect the ball unchallenged and roll it into an open net.
Dhiraj Chauhan made it 4-0 soon after, nodding in a free-kick delivery from Miranda, who continued to orchestrate Sporting Clube’s offense. Rohan Rodrigues then registered the fifth, executing a quick one-two with Joyson Gauncar before slotting the ball home.
Capping off the six-goal display, Gauncar added his name to the scoresheet with a brilliant curling strike from outside the box. Samuel Costa provided the assist, feeding Gauncar at the edge of the area to complete Sporting Clube’s emphatic victory.
The Flaming Oranje’s performance showcased their depth and versatility, with a different scorer for each goal, underscoring their team cohesion and sharpness in the attacking third. Sporting Clube de Goa’s unbeaten record now stands at five wins from five matches, with their clinical display highlighting the strength of their title ambitions this season.
Meanwhile, Vasco SC struggled to find a foothold throughout the contest, offering limited resistance to Sporting Clube’s relentless offensive pressure. With this defeat, Vasco will look to regroup as the league progresses, while Sporting Clube de Goa remains unbeaten in the competition.
