Joseph Clemente's stoppage-time header secured a crucial 1-0 victory for Pax of Nagoa against Vasco SC in the Goa Professional League match at Duler ground on Tuesday.

Clemente struck in the 90+1st minute, converting a short corner assisted by Stephen Satarkar, to break the deadlock in what had been a closely contested match.

The win came after Pax of Nagoa dominated possession throughout the match, creating numerous chances in both halves. Coach Mateus's tactical decision to start Joywin Carneiro up front nearly paid dividends early on, with the striker coming close with two headed attempts in the first half.

Vasco SC's best opportunity fell to Mujafarhusain, who failed to convert a one-on-one chance against goalkeeper Vishal Sunar after being set up by Benjamin's aerial through pass. K Horam also missed a clear opportunity from inside the box for Vasco SC.

Pax of Nagoa's lineup saw several changes, including Vishal Sunar starting in goal and the return of Nickson from suspension. Second-half substitute Stephen Satarkar made an immediate impact after replacing Shayne Don Afonso, while fellow substitute Aditya Salgaonkar's constant raids added pressure on the Vasco defense.

The match saw three yellow cards, with Praveen Khole cautioned for Vasco SC, while Sarineo Fernandes and Wendell Coelho entered the referee's book for Pax of Nagoa.
