Pax of Nagoa and Sporting Clube de Goa ascend Goa Professional League ladder with midweek victories

Pax of Nagoa Sports Club and Sporting Clube de Goa triumphed in their respective encounters of Goa Professional League, reshuffling the league table with their impressive wins on Wednesday.

Nagoa emerged victorious in a tightly contested match against Geno FC, clinching a 1-0 win at the Duler Stadium in Mapusa. Delton Colaco scored the solitary goal in the 79th minute, dismantling Geno FC's four-match winning streak. Colaco's stellar performance didn't go unnoticed, as he rightfully claimed the coveted Player of the Match award.

This crucial victory propelled Pax of Nagoa to the second spot in the league standings with 19 points from nine games, leapfrogging over their adversaries. Geno FC, on the other hand, slipped to the fourth position, maintaining their standing at 17 points from nine games. Notably, this marks Geno FC's second defeat of the season, the other setback being against the table-topping Dempo SC.

Over at the Nagoa ground, Sporting Clube de Goa exhibited their prowess against Guardian Angel SC, securing a 1-0 win with Sidharth Kundaikar's 21st-minute goal proving decisive. This victory propelled Sporting Clube de Goa to the third spot on the league table, amassing 17 points from 10 games.

The clash between Pax of Nagoa and Geno FC saw early attacking moves from Delton Colaco, who showcased his blistering pace down the right flank, troubling the Geno FC defense. Despite their early dominance, the first half concluded without any goals, setting the stage for a nail-biting second half.

The game-changing moment arrived in the 79th minute when Jesloy Moniz delivered a precise through pass to the electric Delton Colaco. Colaco, with a dazzling run into the box, calmly slotted the ball past the goalkeeper, securing the crucial three points for Pax of Nagoa.

Guardian Angel SC are languishing in the bottom half of the table at the ninth position with 12 points.
