Pax of Nagoa scored a solitary goal win over Cortalim Villagers in the GFA Goa Professional League at Duler Stadium, Mapusa.

The hero of the match was undoubtedly Royal Oliveira, who not only scored the decisive goal but was also awarded the player of the match accolade.

Pax of Nagao record their second win and move to six points while Cortalim are yet to open their account.

Pax of Nagoa got off to a dream start, asserting their dominance early in the game. In the sixth minute, Jesloy Moniz delivered a pinpoint pass inside the box to Royal Oliveira, who made no mistake in slamming the ball past the Cortalim Villagers' goalkeeper, sending the Nagoa fans into jubilation.

Cortalim Villagers, on the other hand, struggled to find their footing but had moments of promise. Saeesh Halarnkar came close to equalizing, but he couldn't capitalize on the opportunity. Despite Pax of Nagoa having a couple of chances through Delton Colaco and Shubert Pereira, the attacks failed to materialize into goals.

As the match progressed, both teams engaged in end-to-end football, but there were few shots on target. Cortalim Villagers utilized their flanks effectively for attacks, while Pax of Nagoa showcased a formidable defense. In the midfield, Cortalim's Saeesh and Denil Rebello displayed commendable performances.

Cortalim Villagers had a golden opportunity to level the score when Pax of Nagoa's captain, Joseph Clemente, committed a foul just outside the box. Aniston Fernandes stepped up to take the resulting freekick, but it was brilliantly saved by Pax of Nagoa's goalkeeper, Ozen Silva.

In the closing stages of the game, Cortalim's Bersal attempted a header that sailed over the crossbar, leaving their hopes of an equalizer dashed. Meanwhile, substitute Edward Souza tried his luck with a shot from outside the box, but Cortalim's custodian, Mackvino, made a crucial save to deny the visitors.
