Guardian Angel Sports Club and Sesa Football Academy took flight in the Goa Professional League on Monday, both securing convincing wins in their respective clashes.

At Benaulim, Guardian Angel silenced the roar of Churchill Brothers FC, cruising to a 2-0 victory thanks to a clinical double from Joel Baretto. Churchill Brothers started brightly, but Baretto struck twice after the break, first finishing coolly on the break in the 49th minute, then tapping into an empty net after a selfless assist from Gilbert Oliveira in the 57th. Earlier, Guardian Angel SC came close to scoring through Gilbert ad Joel.

Despite Lumnimlen Haokip's late effort rattling the post, Churchill Brothers' frustration boiled over as captain Trijoy Dias received a red card in the dying minutes. Trijoy had a good start to the game having couple of shots on target, however, he had to end the game on a negative note.

Meanwhile, at Sirsaim, Omkar Shetgaonkar emerged the hero for Sesa FA, bagging a quickfire brace just before halftime to seal a comfortable 2-0 win over FC Goa. Shetgaonkar's goals put Sesa FA on 27 points from 15 games, solidifying their grip on the upper echelons of the table. FC Goa, on the other hand, were left searching for answers after failing to break down a resolute Sesa defense.
