Guardian Angel SC outplayed Pax of Nagoa, while Cortalim Villagers added to the misery of Panjim Footballers in the Goa Football Association Goa Professional League on Saturday.

Guardian Angel SC secured their third win of the season with a 3-0 victory against Pax of Nagoa, handing them their second defeat of the season.

Joel Barreto scored a brace for the winners, finding the net twice in the first half. Guardian Angel SC now moves to 12 points, while Nagoa squandered the chance to move to the second spot, remaining on sixteen points from eight games.

Despite playing at their home ground, Nagoa was on the receiving end right from the beginning. Guardian Angel SC missed several chances early on but finally broke the deadlock in the 40th minute through Joel, who headed past Nagoa's keeper Ozen Silva off a cross from Clifton.

Later, Joel connected with a brilliant shot, diverting a cross from the right to make it 2-0 just before the breather. Pax of Nagoa was nowhere near their best.

The second half continued from where it left off, and Guardian Angel SC was content to see the play being restricted to the midfield. Maxson Lopes then added the third goal for the winning team.

Meanwhile, at Benaulim ground, Panjim Footballers suffered their eighth defeat of the campaign with a 0-2 loss against Cortalim Villagers. They are rooted at the bottom of the table with just one point from nine games.

Vikram V and Cyril Dias scored for the winners. Cortalim now moved to eight points from eight games.
