Guardian Angel SC edge out Young Boys of Tonca, Dempo SC thump Churchill Brothers FC

Dempo Sports Club secured a convincing 3-0 victory over Churchill Brothers FC in the Goa Professional League at Benaulim's SAG ground while Guardian Angel SC edged out Young Boys of Tonca with a 4-3 victory at the Nagoa panchayat ground.

Dempo's goals were netted by Arnold Oliveira, Pratik Naik, and Topon Minj.

Dempo took an early lead in the 2nd minute as Oliveira capitalized on a defensive error, lobbing the ball past Churchill Brothers' goalkeeper Subhajit Bhattacharjee.

In the 50th minute, Dempo extended their lead with a goal from Pratik Naik, who nodded in a precise corner kick from Oliveira. Despite continued efforts from Churchill Brothers, Dempo's solid defense thwarted their attacks.

Topon Minj sealed the victory in the 87th minute with a clinical finish, ensuring a comprehensive win for Dempo Sports Club.

Elsewhere, Joel Baretto was the star for Guardian Angel, netting a hat-trick with goals in the 10th, 24th, and injury time of the first half.

Teammate Fedrich Fernandes added to the tally in the 26th minute. Young Boys of Tonca put up a fierce fight, with Raju Abbigiri starting their comeback just before the break. Sudhir Laitonjam and Yadav Rahul kept hopes alive with strikes in the 48th and the dying moments of the game, respectively.

Despite their efforts, Young Boys fell short. Yellow cards were issued to Guardian Angel's Joywin Costa and Fulganco Cardozo, while Young Boys' Johny Manbha and goal-scorer Rahul were also booked.

In the Second Division League Amaravati SC stunned Aivao YC 2-1 with an 89th minute penalty sealing the game.
