Geno FC humble YBT, Sesa FA beat Sporting Clube

Geno FC and Sesa FA recorded wins in their respective encounters of GFA Goa Professional League on Thursday.

While Geno FC smashed four past Young Boys of Tonca to record a 4-1 win, Sesa FA edged past Sporting Clube de Goa 2-1.

Geno FC led 1-0 at the break, with Mohammed Faheez scoring the only goal in the session. Geno FC dominated the second half and scored three more goals through Krishna Gawas, Chaitan Komarpant and Mouzzan Shaikh. Harshad Naik pulled a goal back for the losing team.

Sesa FA clinched a crucial 2-1 victory against Sporting Clube de Goa in the GFA Goa Professional League at Sirsaim ground. Omkar Shetgaonkar put Sesa FA in the lead in the 12th minute, courtesy of a precise cross from Shridharnath Dyaneshwar to Chaitan, who then delivered a perfect cut-back for Shetgaonkar to slot home.

The second half saw Joshua D'Silva double the lead in the 52nd minute, capitalizing on a defensive error after applying relentless pressure on the goalkeeper. Sporting Clube de Goa fought back, with Lloyd Cardozo converting a cross in the 85th minute from the right flank to pull a goal back.

Despite Joshua missing a golden opportunity earlier and another chance towards the end, Sesa FA held on for a 2-1 victory. The final whistle marked a pivotal moment in the league, as Sesa FA moved to 13 points from eight games, while Sporting Clube de Goa remained on 14 points from nine matches.

In GFA Second Division League, Curtorim Gymkhana eased past Our Lady of Gloria SC 3-1. FC Goa and Vagator PYSC shared the spoils in 2-2 draw. FC Tuem and Goan Warriors played out a drab draw. Deao SC downed PY Nuvem 3-0.

In GFA U-13 Division II League, Bidesh XI SC humbled The Anjuna Gymkhana 7-0. Augustias SC and YSC Colvale played out a 4-4 draw. Valpoi FC outplayed Laxmi Prasad SC 16-1.
