Geno FC extended winning momentum to four matches with an easy 2-0 victory over Calangute Association in the Goa Professional League at Sirsaim, on Sunday. Meanwhile FC goa thumped Panjim Footballers 4-1 at SAG Benaulim.

Geno struck once in either half with Chaitan Komarpant and Joysana Nongthombam firing respectively.

Elsewhere, Likson Rebello fired an early brace while Leewan Castanha and Akash Oraow  sealed the deal for FC Goa, despite a Crespo D'Souza contribution for Panjim.

Geno FC struck first in the 29th minute through a brilliant effort from winger Chaitan Komarpant. Receiving a well-weighted pass from forward Abelson Jachi, Komarpant weaved past a defender before coolly slotting in from the edge of the box to give Geno FC the lead.

The match threatened to boil over in the 33rd minute as a brawl broke out on the field that the referee struggled to contain, with several players from both teams involved in the fracas. Eventually the officials bought the game under control, but a player each from either side saw red while Calangute Association’s Pandurang Gauns received a warning, and was the only action as the game progressed into the break.

Calangute Association came out with renewed vigor in the second half, desperately searching for an equalizer. However, Geno FC's resolute defense proved up to the task and in the 87th minute, Geno FC sealed the victory with a second goal. Nigel carried in the ball from the midfield to follow up with a delightful ball played in for a layoff into the box, setting up Joysana Nongthombam for a simple tap-in to seal the deal for Geno FC.

In the other game, Likson Rebello got the party started early for FCG, netting a brace within the first 15 minutes. The first goal came in the 8th minute. He struck again just seven minutes later to put his team firmly in control.

FC Goa's captain, Leewan Castanha added another goal in the 24th minute to extend their lead 3-0. Panjim managed to pull one back through Crespo Dsouza in the 38th minute, but it wasn't enough to faze FC Goa. The Gaurs themselves continued to threaten, adding Akash Oraow to their attack in the 73rd minute.

Oraow justified his substitution by scoring in stoppage time, putting the final nail in the coffin for Panjim and secured FC Goa a 4-1 victory.
