Geno FC dispatched Pax of Nagoa with a convincing 4-1 victory at Duler Stadium, Mapusa, on Friday, reclaiming form in the Goa Professional League. After a quiet first half, Geno broke through in stoppage time when Sidney Gauncar smashed a Sheldon Pereira assist into the top left corner, sending his team into the break with a 1-0 lead.

Geno wasted no time in the second half as Pereira doubled the tally with a clinical finish off a pinpoint Saideep Pomburphekar cross. Minutes later, Nigel Fernandes extended the lead, curling a superb shot into the right corner from a Flan Gomes pass, putting Geno firmly in control at 3-0.

Nagoa responded in the 58th minute, with Velroy Fernandes netting from close range after a sharp run and assist by Stephen Satarkar. Despite a late push by Nagoa, Geno’s defense held firm, and Nigel Fernandes capped off the game with a penalty in stoppage time after being fouled inside the box, calmly slotting home to seal the 4-1 triumph.

Geno's coach, Yash Nagwe, introduced five lineup changes following their recent defeat to Sesa FA, including Askhat Hadkonkar in goal and Sahil Inamdar in defense, a move that paid off as his side’s refreshed lineup overpowered Nagoa.
