Sporting Clube de Goa returned to winning ways in emphatic fashion, thumping Panjim Footballers 4-0 in a Goa Professional League clash at the Tilak Maidan on Thursday.
It was a one-sided affair as the Flaming Oranje dominated from start to finish. Biswa Darjee drew first blood in the 12th minute with a cheeky cross-turned-shot that caught Panjim's keeper Vipin Sharma napping.
Akeraj Martins then doubled the lead with a thumping header off an Ivon Costa cross in the 25th minute as Sporting took a 2-0 lead into the break.
The onslaught continued in the second half as Sushil Meitei made it 3-0 just a minute after the restart, tapping home from close range after some good work by Francisco Fernandes.
Substitute Vidipt Dua then capped off the 4-0 rout in the 50th minute, deftly rounding the keeper after being played through by Adil Khan's sublime pass.
