FC Tuem, Compassion FC and Vintage 73 register wins

FC Tuem claimed a comfortable 2-0 win over Sesa FA in the GFA Vedanta women's league at Duler on Thursday. Namita Govekar scored a brace to secure the game for the winners.

The match began with FC Tuem setting the tone early. Rhea Pires delivered a pinpoint corner kick, expertly met by Namita , who slotted the ball into the net to give FC Tuem an early lead, and kept up the pressure with a dangerous free-kick attempt by Nevilla Colaco, however,Ashika Gadekar, the vigilant Sesa keeper, displayed her skills by making a crucial save.

As the first half drew to a close, FC Tuem maintained their one-goal advantage, showcasing their solid defensive play.

The second half witnessed relentless action on both ends of the pitch. Despite Sesa FA's custodian making valiant saves, they couldn't withstand FC Tuem's offensive pressure. Poor defense by Sesa FA allowed Namita Govekar to secure her brace, doubling FC Tuem's lead.

Rhea attempted to extend the lead further with a wide shot from a free-kick, narrowly missing a chance to make it 3-0. Namita had a free-kick opportunity as well, but the ball ultimately found its way into the hands of the Sesa FA keeper and the final whistle saw the scoreboard read 2-0 in favour of FC Tuem.

 

In another match, Vintage 73 scored a massive 12-0 win over Sinquerim SC. Compassion FC also recorded a 3-1 win over Cana Benaulim.
