FC Goa cruised to a 3-1 victory over Guardian Angel SC in the Goa Professional League clash at Duler Stadium, Mapusa, on Friday. Jovial Dias and Abawiha were on target for FC Goa, while an unfortunate own goal from Guardian Angel’s Livan Clemente contributed to their lead. Maxson Lopes scored the only goal for Guardian Angel, but it wasn’t enough to stop FC Goa's dominant performance.

Guardian Angel initially took advantage of a defensive miscommunication in the FC Goa backline, with Maxson Lopes capitalizing. Clifton Rebello whipped in a cross from the left, causing confusion between the defender and goalkeeper. Cyril Dias pounced on the loose ball and quickly passed to Lopes, who slotted it home from close range.

FC Goa regrouped swiftly, piling on pressure in search of an equalizer. In the 37th minute, their efforts were rewarded when Bryson Pereira’s cross from the left took a deflection off Livan Clemente, sending the ball into his own net to level the score before halftime.

The second half saw FC Goa take control, dictating the tempo in midfield. In the 72nd minute, Jovial Dias headed in a precise cross from Abawiha to give FC Goa the lead. Moments later, Abawiha sealed the result, turning provider into scorer. Malsawmtluanga’s cutback found Abawiha at the edge of the box, where he curled a brilliant shot into the far corner, securing FC Goa’s 3-1 triumph.
