Cortalim Villagers SSWA asserted their dominance in the Goa Professional League with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Young Boys of Tonca at the Nagoa Panchayat Ground on Wednesday.

The Villagers dictated the tempo early on, but it was a 30th-minute freekick that unlocked the scoring. Jaison Vaz rose highest to collect the cross and head home, giving Cortalim a deserved lead.

The second half saw Cortalim Villagers step on the gas. Substitute Preston Fernandes burst down the left wing in the 46th minute before delivering a precise cross for Cyril Dias to tap in from close range.

Young Boys of Tonca struggled to muster a meaningful response, frustrated by Cortalim's resolute defense. In the dying moments, Denil Rebello added to the Villagers' tally, receiving a pass from Jaison and calmly slotting past the goalkeeper despite initially losing his position.

Both teams saw yellow cards in a competitive encounter, with Dibyendu Chatterjee (YBT) and Cliford Costa, Francis Vincent D (Cortalim) booked by the referee.
