Churchill Brothers and Pax of Nagoa both claimed commanding victories in the Goa Professional League on Thursday, with the former dispatching Vasco SC 3-0 and the latter cruising past Guardian Angel SC 4-0.

At SAG Ground, Benaulim, Churchill Brothers rebounded from a tough loss to Goa Police with a dominant 3-0 win over Vasco SC. The match got off to a flying start, as Churchill took the lead in the 10th minute. Haokip’s quick throw-in found Imarson, who calmly slotted the ball home to give the hosts an early advantage.

Vasco sought to regroup after the early setback, but Churchill remained in control, nearly doubling their lead in the second half. In the 60th minute, a penalty was awarded to Churchill when Vasco’s Blasco fouled Sarif Khan in the box. Lesly Rebello confidently converted from the spot to make it 2-0. Imarson then sealed his brace, capitalizing on a low cross from Jobern Cardozo to fire the ball into the bottom left corner, extending Churchill’s lead to 3-0.

Vasco were awarded a penalty in stoppage time, but Churchill keeper Nitish Mehra made a crucial save, denying Bawlte’s spot-kick to preserve his clean sheet and complete the 3-0 victory for his side.

In the day’s other match at Duler Stadium, Mapusa, Pax of Nagoa delivered a dominant 4-0 win over Guardian Angel SC. Delton Colaco opened the scoring in the 19th minute, pouncing on a rebound after a save by the Guardian Angel keeper. Just 15 minutes later, Jesloy Moniz doubled the advantage, powering home a strike from a precise cross by Desmon Pereira.

Nagoa added a third goal in first-half stoppage time, as Colaco completed his brace with a composed finish after intercepting the ball from Guardian Angel’s left-back. Leading 3-0 at halftime, Nagoa showed no signs of slowing down after the break.

In the 73rd minute, head coach Mateus Costa’s tactical substitution proved decisive. Verloy Fernandes, brought on to strengthen the midfield, scored a powerful long-range shot to seal a 4-0 victory for Nagoa.
