CD Salgaocar maintained their impressive form in the Goa Pro League, securing a 2-0 victory over FC Goa at Duler Stadium, even after being reduced to 10 men early in the second half. This win, marked by goals from Denil Rebello and Isac, extends Salgaocar's unbeaten run to five matches and strengthens their position in the league.

The game began with both teams battling for control, but it was Salgaocar who capitalized on their early opportunities. The breakthrough came in the 28th minute when FC Goa conceded a penalty after a handball inside the box. Denil Rebello coolly converted from the spot, sending the goalkeeper the wrong way and putting his side in the lead.

Building on their momentum, Salgaocar doubled their advantage just eight minutes later. A pinpoint cross from Mevzen Oliveira on the left flank found Isac, whose powerful header gave the FC Goa goalkeeper no chance, securing a 2-0 lead heading into halftime.

FC Goa came close to pulling one back before the break, but Salgaocar's goalkeeper Sanij Bugde made a brilliant full-stretch save to deny a well-placed free-kick from Prachit Gaonkar, keeping the scoreline intact.

In the second half, FC Goa pushed forward with more urgency, but their task was made easier in the 54th minute when Salgaocar's Reezvon Fernandes received a second yellow card and was sent off. Despite being a man down, Salgaocar’s defense held firm, with Bugde making a series of crucial saves to maintain their clean sheet.

FC Goa tried to capitalize on their numerical advantage, with Jovial Dias and Gaonkar both coming close to scoring, but they couldn't find a way past Salgaocar's resolute defense.

With this win, Salgaocar continue their strong start to the season, while FC Goa will need to reflect on missed chances and work on bouncing back as the league progresses.
