The Goa Professional League witnessed a rollercoaster of emotions on Thursday, with Dempo SC surrendering a late lead to draw 2-2 against Calangute Association, while Guardian Angel SC registered a narrow 1-0 victory over FC Goa.

Dempo dominated early, rattling the woodwork through Velanco's Sairon-inspired effort and forcing the Calangute goalkeeper into action against Asmon's low drive. Just before the break, Aaron Bareto's pinpoint long ball found Shreyash Naik, who coolly slotted past the onrushing custodian to hand Dempo the lead.

Calangute responded in the second half, Pedro Gonsalves nodding in a corner with pinpoint accuracy in the 48th minute. The game swung again in the 70th minute as Topon Minj's cross was met acrobatically by Arnold Oliveira, his strike restoring Dempo's lead.

However, drama unfolded in stoppage time. Dempo defender's handball gifted Calangute a penalty, and Vishesh stepped up to calmly convert from the spot, snatching a dramatic point for his side.

In the other match, Guardian Angel relied on Joywin Costa's solitary strike to silence FC Goa. Costa's goal proved the difference, leaving FC Goa frustrated with just a point despite creating their own chances.

Dempo maintain their top spot with 27 points from 14 matches, but Calangute's late resurgence sees them close the gap to three points. Guardian Angel climb the table with their hard-fought victory, emphasizing the competitiveness of the league. Dempo's Aaron Bareto was named the player of the match,
