Calangute Association continued their climb up the GFA Goa Professional League table with a resounding 3-0 victory over Young Boys of Tonca on Saturday. The match, played at the Sesa academy ground in Sirsaim, saw Calangute dominate possession and capitalize on defensive lapses by their opponents.

The deadlock was broken in the 41st minute when Pratesh Shirodkar sent in a delightful cross from the right. Jovito Fernandes rose to the occasion with a well-placed flick header, leaving the YBT keeper stranded and putting Calangute ahead.

Just minutes later, disaster struck for Young Boys. A defensive miscommunication between Dibyendu Chatterjee and goalkeeper Ram Saroop allowed man of the match Pratesh Shirodkar to double Calangute's lead.

Despite sporadic attempts from Ashem Metei and Yadav Rahul, Young Boys of Tonca failed to truly threaten the Calangute defense. The score remained 2-0 at halftime.

The second half saw Calangute continue their control of the game. In stoppage time, Vishesh Nasnodkar put the game to bed with a driving run into YBT territory. He evaded defenders before setting up Aman Govekar for a simple finish, sealing a comfortable 3-0 win for Calangute Association.

Across town at SAG Benaulim, Pax of Nagoa put on a clinical display against Panjim Footballers. The final scoreline read 4-0 in favor of Pax of Nagoa, who dominated possession and peppered the Panjim goal throughout the match.

Jesloy Moniz opened the scoring for Nagoa early on, followed by a goal from Velroy Fernandes. Malappa and Sidney Gauncar added their names to the scoresheet in the second half, ensuring a dominant victory for Pax of Nagoa.
