Big wins for Sesa FA, FC Goa

Sesa FA scored a comfortable 5-0 win over Panjim Footballers in the GFA Goa Professional League at Duler Stadium, Mapusa, on Tuesday.

The deadlock was finally broken in the 36th minute when Thokchom Beckham Singh of Sesa FA delivered a precision cross, expertly headed in by Sankhalp Kankonkar. Despite a slow start, Sesa FA went into the halftime break with a narrow 1-0 lead.

The second half witnessed a rejuvenated Sesa FA side making double substitutions, introducing Chaitan Dabholkar and Joshua D’Silva. The impact was immediate, with the duo combining to double the lead. Joshua D’Silva showcased his dribbling skills as he skillfully maneuvered past the goalkeeper to find the back of the net.

In the 66th minute, Umang Gaikwad provided a pinpoint cross into the box, allowing Joshua D’Silva to complete his brace with a well-timed tap-in. Sesa FA continued to dominate, with Chaitan Dabholkar's brilliance on the flank leading to Aman Rajbhar scoring just eight minutes after being introduced as a substitute.

Aman Rajbhar wasn't done yet, securing his brace with an assist from Chaitan, further extending Sesa FA's lead to 5-0. The dynamic performance by Sesa FA showcased their attacking prowess and clinical finishing.

Thokchom Beckham Singh, the architect of the opening goal, was rightfully awarded the player of the match, a recognition presented by GFA executive member Laximan Hadfadkar.

In a parallel fixture at Nagoa ground, FC Goa dominated Vasco SC with a convincing 6-0 victory. Lemmet Tangvah stole the spotlight by scoring four goals, while Gogocha Chungkham and Bryson Pereira contributed to the comprehensive win. With this result, FC Goa climbed to the second spot in the league standings with 10 points from five games, while Vasco SC remained in 11th position with 3 points.

In U13 Division I, Guardian Angel SC and Vasco SC recorded huge wins. While Guardian Angel SC beat Geno FC 20-3; Vasco SC downed Sporting Clube de Goa 7-4.

 

In the U13 Div II League, Goa United SA beat Bidesh XI SC 14-1.  YSC Colvale downed The Anjuna Gymkhana 2-0. Dunes SC humbled Laxmi Prasad SC 15-1.
