Ambelim Sports Club emerged champions of the Goa Football Association’s Futsal League 2023-24, after defeating FC Tuem 3-2 in the final at Chowgule Futsal Court, Fatorda.

Ambelim will represent Goa at the National Futsal Championship.

Playing their second final in as many GFA futsal championships, Ambelim SC had experienced the defeat against Sporting Clube in 2021 and missed out on the spot of representing the state at the nationals. And this time the team from South Goa didn’t waste time in their approach in the game and they got early goals to take control of the game against a strong FC Tuem side, which featured some of Goa’s brightest talent.

The high-intensity clash witnessed Sawan Lotlikar, Michael Dias, and Sadroy Costa as the goal-scorers for Ambelim, while Mahammed Faheez and Jayesh Sutar found the net for Tuem.

Ambelim's performance was nothing short of spectacular, as Sawan and Michael struck early, applying immense pressure to the Tuem side within the first ten minutes.

To their credit, FC Tuem made a commendable comeback in the 27th minute when Faheez scored to narrow the deficit. But htem Sadroy once again regained their two-goal cushion. However, FC Tuem managed to pull a goal back in the dying minutes of the game through Jayesh. However, they adeptly defended their one-goal lead to conclude the game at 3-2, clinching the GFA State Futsal League Championship.

GFA President Dr. Caitano Fernandes gave away the trophy to the winners and runners-up in the presence of GFA members, vice president and other dignitaries.
